January Birthdays

January is a month full of birthdays for me.
It started on January 1st with my ex-boss, then the 6th was my sisters day, 7th was my grandaughter Jaydene who turned 5. The 10th was Simon, the 11th was Pauls, and the 12th was a very good friend of mine Zoe who also was my workmate for 4 years.
The 16th was another grandaughter, Jessica reached double numbers and turned 10 and on Friday Shawn's partner Shaz will have her day. And lastly on the 21st is a friend of mine who lives in Victoria's birthday. I am hoping to catch up with him while I am there. He is suffering from Parkinsons Disease but so far his general good health and medication is keeping the disease fairly well under control.

On Thursday afternoon I fly to Melbourne to help Kylee finish packing up her house and possessions all ready for our drive home the following week. Kylee has her last shift at her work on Sunday.
She had a phone call from the human resources manager of Woolworths in Bunbury and Kylee will start work in a brand new Woolies store just a 6 minute drive from our home on the 30th of January. She will be working in the bakery section and is very excited about the job....new store, new job....new begininnings. So here's hoping the removalists arrive on time and we get on the road and have a trouble free trip across. Its going to be a long drive....but I am looking forward to the time we will have together.

Weigh in this morning....a stay the same.
Now I just have to keep it together during the next 2 weeks and don't blow it !!

mmmmm this is what I indulged in last night !!

I went to Mandurah to catch up with a very good friend I met through the ww site, we had a great catch up and indulged in a lovely healthy lunch at the Dome on the waterfront. It was lovely as it was a very hot and humid day.
On arriving home, hubby & I decided to have a late dinner as it was soooooooo hot which was great as it was only to be steak & vegies. But when I went off to the kitchen to prepare hubby came wandering in and says "how does pizza sound" ? Now he NEVER suggests something like that, welllllllllllll very rarely anyways so thats what we did.
It was simply deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevine !!! Just thinking about it is making my mouth water !!

BUT why didn't I stop at just the pizza?
I don't know!!
I could blame the fact that I didn't take my thyroid pills yesterday BUT I can't coz I know it wasn't just that reason.
I KNOW it was because once I treat myself to something I decide to throw caution to the wind and indulge myself more. It seems to be "you know a little more won't hurt" and so thats what I did. And now I hope I haven't just stuffed up what was to be another great week. Today, and till next weigh in, I am making sure I am eating ONLY Simply filling foods and tracking every little morsel.

Simply Filling

After a great week on Simply Filling, and I used up all my bonus 49 points too....I LOST 2.3 this week. I am wrapt!!
Hope that this week it doesn't go all pear shaped and I don't lose at all !!
Think a lot of it is that I am not snacking as I am content after my meals PLUS I have Shera who is making me up my exercise that bit extra. She is a very exuberant puppy who loves her walks and plays, I get towed for the first 30 minutes of our walk!!

Next week I am off to Melbourne to help Kylee drive back home. She has a job starting here on the 30th so she will be leaving Melbourne before settlement of the house. Kylee did have someone else to help her make the drive but due to her having to leave early they can't do the trip and I am NOT having her do the trip on her own!
So this week I am hoping for another great week as I think the following one will be "full on" driving with not much exercise.

Rest time..just for a few minutes

Shera is settling in fine without dear daughter. I thought she would fret for her "mummy" but so far she hasn't.
I walk her every morning, can't get out of my walking now can I?
Unfortunately have we no secure yard so she is tied up while I am at work, or busy in the house as she does wander, and I just couldn't bare to have her wander, she doesn't know the area and is not all that road savvy!! While I am home I spend as much time as I can with her playing....and then when I am working I walk her before work and I spend 45 minutes after work playing with her, throwing balls or on a hot day like today playing with the hose.
Poor puss has had his nose put out of joint having Shera here. All Shera wants to do is play but Doog just arches his back and spits at him. Shera bounds around him, getting as close as she can....you would think with all the spitting & snarling my cat does Shera would get the message.....but nahhh she doesn't. Going to end up with a scratched nose methinks!!

I am back on track, having gained a kilo over the Christmas/New Year. I am still using the ww simply filling plan and enjoying it. Will see what this week brings, weigh ins are on Tuesdays.

Tomorrow is the start of a New year and as I reflect on the passing of this one I can hope 2012 brings happiness to us all.

For my son Paul and his partner Tanya and children I hope that this year Paul makes a commitment to Tanya and they marry. Paul for some reason he feels they don't need the piece of paper to do that...but Tanya would love to have the same name.

For Simon & Tracey...I hope the contentment they have found since marrying continues.

For Shawn and Shaz...I hope that this year he can rid of his demons and find and believe in happiness again. He needs to know again that drugs & drink are not necessary to drown his sorrows in....and that he can find happiness without them. For him and Shaz the road hasn't been easy, this coming year I hope its not as bumpy. He has a bright future if he can kick his bad habits.

For Kylee .... for her to find her feet again and live her dreams.

For me...I have my everything in Ted, he is my everything ... BUT I would love to have a bit more of a social life. We are such homebodies and it has become too much of a habit....we need to get out and about more.

Daughter and her Daddy

Dear daughter arrived safely....on the 23rd, as did Shera the dog. Kylee has spent most of her time in and out catching up with family and friends. Yesterday she did go around to all the Woolworths stores and hand in her resume. Fingers crossed she gets a position, casual, part-time, full -time she doesn't care!

This little cutie wandered into our yard on Christmas morning while we were having breakfast on the patio. I looked at Kylee as she has a habit of bringing home stray animals...but she said it had nothing to do with her. Anyways it was friendly, litter trained but starving so we fed it and cuddled it. Would have loved to have kept it but having a cat already, plus Shera, and another cat arriving when Kylee moves home permanently we decided to give it to our little grandson Matthew. He did ask me for a kitten or a puppy for Christmas.

And this our Shera, well she will be ours for a month or so from the 2nd January when Kylee flies back to Melbourne and packs up and waits for settlement on the house.
She loves to walk and I already have got into the habit of putting her harness on and walking her first thing in the morning.

I didn't weigh in on Tuesday after Christmas, but did have a quick peep at the scales...a small gain but hopefully now I have reined myself back in and got back on track after all the Christmas festivities by next weigh I hope to have lost it again.

Shera

Well despite a week filled with drama's I managed to lose 600grams...very pleased about that!!

A lot of the drama's have been to do with Stephen & Kylee...won't go into them all but Kylee has found out that Stephen had been unfaithful before they split and he is now expecting a child with someone else. Hubby & I are very upset about this as right from the start of this breakup he said there was noone else and it had nothing to do with Kylee being unable to have kids without treatment!! So you can all imagine how my girl feels.

Well acually by all, its very quiet out in bloggerland...I didn't even get a comment last week...

This gorgeous little puppy above is a bit bigger now. She is Kylee's dog Shera (a retrieverdor..part retriever & labrador) and she flies in on Friday with Kylee. Kylee is home for Christmas and New Year then flies back to Melbourne to pack up the house ready to move back home as soon as settlement is sorted. Shera will be staying with us...we are doggy sitting.

Tommy and me

Week one of Simply filling has been done and dusted....weigh in result is 1.3 down. Very happy. Simply Filling is easy, for those that have done weight watchers before its just a modified version of the Core program. All I am doing is eating foods with a higher fibre, lower saturated fat and sugar.
Menu today for an example is poached eggs on grainy toast for breakfast, chicken breast and salad for lunch and dinner tonight is fish with wholemeal pasta & vege's. I point the bread out of my allowance.

I still have to track, as with the program now I have 49 pro-points to last me a week. The rest of the time I make my choices from filling & healthy food list (a little green triangle indicates those on the ww site) BUT I am finding it sooooooo easy.

Had a busy weekend. Simon & Tracey came down with their brood of 4 and bought all their school work for the term down. All 4 have done well. Jessica & Zoe both got honor certificates for their academic results this year, Sheymus got an award for his sport and willinginess to work as a team member and little Tommy got a certificate for trying his best at kindy. They have done so well this year and I am so proud of them all.

Well best go put my joggers on, nearly time for a jabberwalk, seeing as the rain as stopped. I want to try as hard as I can to lose this week, as I have no real Christmas challenges to overcome this week. Gonna give it my best shot anyways......

This morning I had my first consult with my ww "At Home" consultant since putting it on hold way back in August. What with all that was happening in my life with Kylee and work it just got too hard.
But looking at my scales yoyo'ing these past few months, its made me realise I cannot do it on my own, espesially as each time I yoyo the numbers get higher. Last week the numbers showed that I was MORE than 10 kilo's over my goal weight!
This time I am not counting points, I am doing the "Simply Filling" program. This is the first time I have done it....but its seems to be easy. Today I have eaten well and haven't been attempted to snack.
Soooooo lets see what the week brings.

I'm back..
Just a quick update before I sort out all the wedding pics, which I'll put up in the next day or so.
Just over a week ago I weighed....then had a bad 3 days.....
Drove to Perth to pick up dear daughter on Thursday then on to Geraldton for wedding, drove home yesterday, dropping daughter off at airport on the way.
Hopped on scales this morning, just checked its been 11 days since last weigh, and I have gained 5 KILO'S !!!
Yikes....I have my work cut out for me again.
I had NO more binges after those few days, and ate quite well while away.
As for the binges Chris asked me why??
Really I am not sure other than I get an urge to eat knowing darn well its going to harm me, knowing too I am going to have trouble stopping BUT I still do it!!!
But stop it I must...

I have been binge eating again....
A real bad Friday afternoon.
A real bad Saturday afternoon.
A worse afternoon today.
My buddy will help me out tomorrow and get me back on with the excersise with our walks and zumba....and hopefully kick my "getting fatter ~~arse bum~~ backside" coz geee I bloody well need it !!!
I had been gearing myself up to relaxing a little while we are away for the wedding knowing I would be "naughty" but why why WHY have I done this to myself now????
Right, now I have written this down, and had a whinge maybe I can get myself re-motivated to losing again. This yoyo'ing is just NOT doing it, ehhhh?
Maybe, too this binge will make me make healthy choices with all my food and drink while away.....fingers crossed xx

Was a busy week....

phewww what a week it has been...so busy with lots of extra shifts for me. One of the girls from the Bunbury shopping centre hurt her shoulder so I have been covering a lot of her shifts.
I have today & tomorrow off, work Saturday morning 6am to 1pm then Ros will be back on Monday so I will go back to my normal 2 days a week here in Australind. The extra $$'s will sure come in handy thou. I have organised to have my hair done on Monday and on Wednesday after work I have an appointment to have my nails done as I can't go up to Jem's wedding with my hands looking as they do now!
On Thursday morning we'll be on the road bright & early....have to be at least by 5am, as Kylee's flight gets in at 7am. Depending on the traffic we are a good 90 minute drive from Perth airport.
I so can't wait. It's a 6 hour drive to Geraldton so we'll be able to have a good catch up with Kylee as we travel, as once we get to Geraldton it will be catch up time with our friends and wedding preparations. We head back on Monday, drop Kylee at the airport at 4pm to catch her 5pm flight, so we should be home by 7pm ready for work again Tuesday !
Ohhh below is the dress & little belero I am wearing to the wedding. The blue dress I have been working hard to get back into just doesn't "feel" right. I do fit into it....but I am at LEAST 7 kilo's heavier than I was when I wore it last. Even with the "suck me in knickers" on it doesn't do it for me!

Kylee has officially got the house on the market as of Monday. Before it was advertised she had a private veiwing, and Wednesday she had another one. Yesterday she had a Home Open, and has another one on Saturday....so fingers crossed for her that the house does sell quickly at a good price too.
Her transfer to a store near here has been received by the recruitment office in Perth and they will let her know next week if she has got a job in the new store that is opening up just a 6 minute drive from here...fingers crossed again.

My weight watchers group meets again tonight. The scales there are NOT going to "get" to me tonight as I weighed in yesterday morning and yayyyy had a 400gram loss. Slowlllllllly I am heading onwards and downwards again.

Now that above shows my face exactly at weigh in last night !!
When I saw the scales I said ~~FUCK~~ farkkkkkkkk !!!
How could that have happened ???
I have excersised 30 to 45 minutes every day this last week, I have watched what I have eaten, haven't eaten anything that I shouldn't have so I was very ~~pissed~~ peeved off !!
sheeeeeeeeeeesh I still haven't touched a chocolate or a bikkie for 43 days !!! ( sshhhh I have eaten a couple of cookies though !!!)

Anyways only 12 more days till we head off to the wedding. We will pick Kylee up from the airport at 7am on the way through....thats if Quantas don't go out on strike again !!!
Don't think I will be wearing the dress I want.....still need to lose a few kilo's before it fits me the way I want it too.......
Anyways it wasn't a mega amount that I gained, BUT hopping on MY scales this morning I was 1.4 down on the reading on the scales last night. So I am going back to weighing myself in the mornings again....I prefer it anyways.

Yesterday I went up to the cabinet makers that did a quote on my kitchen and had a look at all the plans on his computer in 3D. It looked absolutely AWESOME !!! I fell soooooo in love. Later on he emailed me the quote.....hubby took one look and said NO BLOODY WAY am I spending that much money!!! And not included in the quote was the electrician and plasterer.....

I may go back to him today and say...hey can we cut the costs down somehow so I get what I reallllllllly want in the kitchen and forget a forget the others...

Otherwise I guess its back to the drawing board for me......

Last night was weigh in for me....a 500g loss for me, remember this was over 2 weeks.....but I'll take it ... I need it.

Will try my dress that I want to wear for the wedding on again today...hopefully these 36 days without choccies & bikkies will show up more that way.

Edit....Emailed the cabinet maker re: my kitchen and told him I couldn't accept his quote at his quoted price. Also sent him a few modifications asking if they would reduce the price. He emailed back and said to leave it with him, asking what my budget was all up including electrician, plasterer etc .....and he'd get back to me next week. Fingers crossed for me !!

Forum was a success

Our ww federation forum was a success....it went really well. Didn't manage to get many pics...but have this one above. The empty table is my table...me and the other 10 ladies were still running around doing last minute things.
We had 200 ladies, 2 men, 23 clubs represented and all our entertainment arrived on time and performed to applause. We had singers/guitarists, a personal trainer spoke and had volunteers in the background demonstrating easy fitness and toning excersises, a comedienne and a talk and slide show on the dolphins that come into visit at our Dolphin center in our town, and the facilities in the center (like a touch pool for the kiddies) and the eco boat tours. All these people were volunteers and entertained us at no cost to our club. We did give them a token gift of appreciation.
Our club sponsors one of the dolphins that regularly visits the center.
Our ladies cooked up a storm and supplied a beautiful morning and afternoon tea....and our caterers outdid themselves with a very appetising lunch.
A lot of hard work went into the event and it all payed off. We had nothing but praise and appreciation from everyone. A big sigh of relief now that it is all over....someone elses turn next year.

Meeting tonight .....

.... turned out to be a fizzer.....got there and there was NO POWER !!!

So tonight I came home and hopped on my scales and had a quick peek....it showed me a loss...not the kilo I was hoping for but enough to make me smile.
Now my scales have been put away, I can't weigh myself during the week, my weight flucuates from day to day, and to see that does me head in !!!

Now that I have had no weigh in recorded this week my challenge to myself is to don those joggers daily and make sure I walk 30 minutes plus a day.
Ohhhh and I have STILL had no choccies or bikkies....thats 28 days now.....
I have started Zumba Fitness & Toning once a week as well....though this week coming there will be none....so might have to get my pilates dvd out of hiding and do that, need to do something to help out my core.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. Our ww club is hosting a ww forum, we have over 200 ladies from all over the south west and we have to cater morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea plus entertain them as well. Ths is happening Saturday, so tomorrow we have the hall we have hired to set up for a early morning start on Saturday.
Sunday, I have Shawn and his 4 kids for his access visit. Ohhhh and talking of Shawn, he starts a new job on Monday...he is so happy about that.
Kylee has the house up for sale. Stephen is hiring storage space so Kylee can de-clutter the house....all looks promising. She has stepped down from night supervisor so she can have all day shifts....gives her more time at home with her animals.

Now here is hoping for a good week......

Last night my good friend and I went to our little weight loss group we go to, we both weighed in, she lost 500grams, I stayed the same !!! She is now 300grams of her goal weight again. I am sooooooooo proud of her BUT at the same time I am so green with envy.

It could have been me to, but I eat my emotions...thus I am right back where I am now. I have been working so hard this week and was disappointed when the scales didn't move down BUT I will hang in there...I know I am losing inches as a lot of my clothes tell me so. We'll see what the scales say next week.
Next week I will cheering along with Deb as she reaches her goal weight....and she will be walking right along side me every day till I get to my goal again.

.......energy!!

My week has been bought to you by headaches, runny nose and coughs!
Could I PLEASE get some new sponsers...I am over these ones!!
I spent most of last weekend either in bed, or sitting here in my chair playing on here, or reading. I was feeling so yuk! As the week has gone on I have got better, thou I still have a headful of cold and a persistent cough.

I am still waiting to hear from the guy that came and did my last kitchen quote, was hoping to this week...will have to give him a ring on Monday if nothing heard. I really liked him, his idea's and hopefully his cost as I so want this new kitchen to be happening soon !

Kylee is ok, has her moments still. Has this weekend off and hopes to get a few more things packed up ready to move across. The house is yet to be put on the market...still waiting for Stephen to get that organised. The way things are going it looks as though she won't be here for awhile.

Mr troublesome one is having a birthday today....he is 29.
I thought with him losing his job and the mood he was in when he was out here with his kids a few weeks back that he might revert back to some of his old ways.....but so far he hasn't !!
Hubby and I bought him some tobacco & cigarettes for him as a birthday gift...as he hasn't been able to get his centerlink organised yet!

I have gone off the ww pro-points for the moment, and trying to just plan and track my food and NOT count points. So far it has been working....I am more relaxed, am eating well and the last 2 weighs in have shown a loss.
I also made a pledge NOT to eat chocolates or bikkies until the day we leave for the wedding....not ONE piece of chocolate OR a biscuit has passed my lips now for 16 days now...

I WILL fit into that dress for the wedding and wear it with a big smile on my face. I have only worn it once before ...and have not had the chance or been able to wear it since....

Not too much happening at the moment. Slowly working around the house getting a few things up-dated. My kitchen is next on the list...I had a quote from a guy last week and yesterday I had a second guy come in and measure up. I really liked him and his idea's .... so kind of hoping his quote come in on my budget. But just the same today I am looking around for another company and hoping to get a 3rd quote. Once the kitchen is done it will saving up towards replacing the tiles on the floor with something different and then the whole house needs painting. The list goes on.....

Kylee is coping well...she sent me the little "life goes on" verse and tells me she is going okay. Says she gets lonely but the cat and dog help her out, espesially in the evenings. The dog sure does, its a puppy (a retreiverdor) and gets into all sorts of mischief. Its latest is chewing a hole through one of her walls...NOT IMPRESSED was Kylee!! The house is going up on the market very shortly so a quick repair will be done. Puppy only chews coz she is fretting Kylee seems to think as its only done when Kylee is on night shift...and that will be changed soon as a request went in a few weeks ago to change her roster to all day shifts, at the moment she does 3 days, 2 nights...

I was hoping Kylee would be home by Christmas but it sure doesn't look like that will happen. She will be home though for one of her friends wedding in late November...counting down the days till then.

I am again getting my weight back on track...set myself a target of getting back into a dress I love for the wedding. Go me !!!

Nature walk with grandies

On Saturday I had Shawn here for an access visit with 3 of his 4 kids...little Jaydene couldn't make the visit as she had gone on holidays with her carers. A bit peeved about that as school only finished on the Friday, they could have left on the Sunday surely knowing that Shawn only gets to see his kids once a month!! Shawn was in a grump too..not just about Jaydene, but because he lost his job on Friday. He had obviously "used" as well as had a few drinks on the Friday as he was going on and on about the situation and was getting agitated. Geeeee hope he doesn'ty slide back into bad old habits....he has had things pretty much under control for close on a year now.
Saturday arvo, the grandies increased to 6 when Tanya bought out her and Paul's kids. Paul had gone out for his annual get together with the boys for the footy grandfinal and Tanya had to work so I had them. The kids all played together very well and really though very noisy, very messy, were very well behaved.
Shawn packed up his very tired 3 kids at 5pm and they all left, which left me with the others. They wanted to go for a walk. What could I do but grab the camera and go for a walk.....
I can tell you I was one very weary "Jenna" at 6.15 when Tanya arrived to take the kids home.

Kylee is going okay. Her and Stephen had a very long chat on Saturday and Stephen told her the truth about why his feelings changed. It made sense to her (and me) but in hindsight (and he realises this) if he spoken to Kylee a few months back MAYBE it could have been resolved and none of this would have been happening.
Anyways she has applied to be transfered to a store close to home, hopefully that will happen....and she is also looking for a truck "backload" to get her furniture and belongings back here. Where I am going to store them yet, I am not sure. Will work that out when the time comes.
mmmmmm she will also comes home with puppy...not a small one either....and one cat with mega attitude!!!

Kylee and Stephen are over. Kylee asked Stephen if he could give an her a answer as to what his feelings towards her and their marriage was and he said he needed more time. Kylee said no, no more time and told him it was over and took off her wedding ring. Has asked him to sort out their finances, has requested a work transfer from Victoria to West Australia...she is coming home, as soon as its possible too.

Now, we wait and see.....

Yesterday I took Kylee back to the airport...
Stephen rang before we left home to say he would be home....and asleep in the spare bedroom when she arrived....she would not get home till after midnight.
Heck knows what the outcome of all this will be....it is very worrying to us...and Stephen's family too. Stephen has been going to councelling whilst Kylee has been here....lets hope it has done some good...
Kylee and I had a lovely day together yesterday, we drove up to Mandurah...had the bestest fish & chips I have eaten since forever...they were deeeeeeeevine.....then onto Perth where we caught up with a girfriend and had coffee & cake at Miss Maud's before taking her out to the airport for her flight home.
There is nothing more I can do now but be here for my girl when needed....and I am sure I am going to be.

Kylee & me

Kylee has been here for nearly a week, and is keeping herself busy. Despite her leaving their house, I think Stephen was right in asking her to come home...this is her family home, she has us and all her friends to lean on. If she had stayed in Melbourne she would have had no-one, no support base, no-one close enough to lean on. Yes, I could have stayed with her there....but there is a lot of ifs, buts and what ifs, so she is happy with the decision, and happy to be surrounded by her family & friends. Well as happy as she can be when she is not sure what she is going back too. She is thinking the worst, but hoping for the best....but she loves the man despite all this...and will fight for him, hopefully with him. She knows it won't be the same but has to try.
She fly's home next week.....but first she has another week at home surrounded and supported by her family and closest friends.

Due to the above, I resorted back to my old emotional eating habits....one day maybe I'll learn that food is really no comfort. Anyways ww has been put on hold for a little while....but I haven't given in...I am fighting my emotions too.

for a reason ....or so they say! I am beginning to wonder at the reason for this heartache my daughter is going through. Even her husband can't give one!!
I am back home, with my daughter. Her husband has asked for time alone in their house so hopefully he can "find" himself. He told my daughter he loved her as a best friend, and not as a wife.....and now needs time alone to see if he can remember all their plans, their dreams....and find himself again!
He has started councelling and living a more healthier lifestyle in the hope he can "de - stress"! So Kylee has come home for 2 weeks.....and then we will see which way they go from there.

Stephen is a gorgeous man and a man I love as a son in law, but the man I saw these past few days is a man lost...I think he is suffering some form of depression. He is so unhappy about all the heartache he has given my daughter but he said he can't live a lie. He says she hasn't caused any of this, she is still the same girl he met and married...it is all him. He said this all come about at Easter...he just lost all the "magic and dreams" that their marriage was based on.

What do you do.....???

I don't know, his parents are shocked at him and don't know either ....

All we do know is my daughter is hearbroken and as she said " things will never be the same again "

I am flying out tomorrow night...my daughter and her hubby are having a bust up. Don't know how serious this is going to be...or if it can be resolved, I think a lot of talking has to be done.
Kylee is devastated, Stephen is her world...she loves him so.

On Wednesday it was weigh in day again....a gain of 700grams for me...not sure why as I thought I'd had a great week. Obviously not !! Anyways thinking about it all and the very social week I have coming up I decided bugger it...I am going to have a break from weight watchers and just eat and enjoy. Know it isn't going to help the scales but at the moment I just don't care !!!

This afternoon I headed up the hill to Simon & Tracey's to help Tommy celebrate his 5th birthday. I had a great arvo with Tommy and all 4 of the kids. Will see them all again Saturday evening as we head out to Ted's youngest brothers 50th birthday.
Tomorrow I have a girlfriend around for morning tea....then later on in the day have a cabinet maker coming around to look at see what renovations I want done to my kitchen and give me a quote. I am loving all the "new" in my life. After the kitchen is new flooring throu the living area's and then that should do us for a while. Some rooms need a serious paint job, but that can wait.

Its been a great week. I have had my hair done and I love it, the colour the style and the ease of doing it. Got my personal number plates for the car...and have got my head in the right place and got myself back on track food & excersise wise. A loss of 1.7 this week sooo have 1.5 to get back to where I was before I left for Melbourne....then maybe I can get my shit together and lose the last 5 kilo's or so to get myself back into the 60's !!

I had a wonderful time in Melbourne, it was soooooooo nice to see my girl again. She is looking happy despite the worries she has with her fertility. Having bought a puppy, the cutest little Retrieverdor they have named Shera has taken a lot of the stress away. Next week Kylee has a ultrasound and a few more blood tests so hopefully we'll know more then. But a big concern is her weight, they (Kylee & hubby) really need to change their diets.

As you can see by a few pics I have put up....one of the highlights of my trip was the footy and my beloved West Coast Eagles. The 1st half was great, they were winning by about 45 points, but in the second half the Bulldogs manned up and started playing man on man and boy did the Eagles get put under pressure. Made Tanya and I bite our nails there for a bit I can tell you..thought for a while we would lose...but they dug deep and showed they were the better side.

The Melbourne musuem and the Tutankhamun display was awesome. Kylee & Stephen bought the tickets to it for us as a surprise and wowww so happy they did. His story and his tomb with all its treasures has always fasinated me.

We did heaps of walking around the city and shopping centers, met up with my neice who was over in Melbourne too for a aromatherapy course and spent a day with her at the Victorian Markets and DFO stores browsing and catching up. Also had a wonderful couple of hours with Maria. I met Maria online in 2005 on the ww boards and then personally back in 2006 when I flew over to see Kylee....and everytime I do visit my girl I try to catch up with her, she has been a wonderful friend.

Now I am back home, its back on track for me....Melbourne, the food, the lifestyle I lead whilst there does not agree with my weight. Over 3 kilo's gained in 6 days!! Back to the real world for me!!

Later on this morning I am leaving for Melbourne, with my DIL Tanya, to spend nearly a week with dear daughter. Was meant to fly with Tiger....but luckily I am receiving my money back so re-booked with Jetstar....coming home Virgin. Change of schedule gave us a extra 2 days :-) which is great.
The other day I had a terrible eating day, don't know what got into me but I binged soooooo much that when I went to bed my stomach was cramping and was so sore...and it stayed like that all night. I think I have learnt my lesson....I will NEVER EVER do that again....the pains were too bad!!!
I had been having the grandies a fair bit these last few weeks...I am loving that. Missing Simon & Tracey's 4 thou....I haven't seen them since the wedding in March. I haven't even seen their wedding pics. Don't know whats happening there....life has been busy for them I know with house renovations and kids activities. I won't go up there unless invited .... gone up there before unannounced and been they have been out, or on the way out, so don't do that anymore...

On Wednesday after work we went in and picked up the car. All the work had been done and all we had to do was transfer our insurance over from the old to the new....and we were on our way home. Hubby drove it halfway, then pulled over and I drove it home. What a delight it is....and ohhhhhh I wish I could bottle the new car smell.
Have named her Rexie....

Now its save the $$'s again....as the next stage of my renovations are being done, have the cabinet maker coming next week to give me a quote on the work I want done in the kitchen.

Weigh in was as I expected, a gain...but luckily only a minor one of a 100grams.

Right, am off to organise the house for tomorrow, I work tomorrow afternoon and on the way home at 5pm I am picking up 3 of the grandies for a sleepover. Looking forward to that....as are Paul & Tanya, they rarely have a night to themselves.

On Wednesday I take possession of a brand spanking new Falcon xr6!
I have NEVER EVER owned a brand new car!!
It is very similar colour to the one shown above. Its is a colour called Edge, a dark grey but with a metallic blue throu it, looks quite stunning I think.
I have been celebrating so don't think the scales are going to like me much this week, what with Kylee's bad news and then this...my emotions I eat !!

Kylee has been undergoing tests lately as she and hubby have been trying to have a baby for awhile now to no avail. Last week she had blood tests and she received the results to day from her Doctor...it wasn't good. She may have polycystic ovarian syndrome, she has a high thyroid levels and if she doesn't change her lifestyle she could end up with diabetes 2, she shows signs of it already.

I feel so much for her...just want to be there with her NOW !! She thinks her dream of having children has gone, she is heartbroken.
Kylee is a big girl, don't know how much she weighs, but she is a size 20/22 and carries most of her weight on her tummy. She hasn't always been overweight, it all started when she moved to Victoria to be with Stephen. She was only 18, was terribly homesick, with no money and no job...so ate to comfort herself.
I should be heading that way on the 27th...wellllllllll if Tiger Airways is flying then. Just waiting to hear if they will be, I can't cancel my tickets (my daughter in law is coming with me) till they confirm they are not flying. I hope they let us know soon enough if they can't fly so I can re-book with another airline.

Despite all this...I managed to lose 900grams this week. I have set a new record I think...7 weeks and 7 losses.

gee the weeks are flying by...already its the end of June, that means in 4 weeks time I will be in Melbourne.
Have had 4 days work last week, and another 4 this week, one is actually tonight which is a new shift to learn for me. I am enjoying it...even though it is "unskilled" work. I know that there are a few extra shifts coming up again soon too.
The new mattress has turned out to be soooo comfy and the changeover from the waterbed to it has been with no drama's. As you can see by the pic, my cat loves the new bedroom espesially the new rugs. Also loves that he can "hide" under the bed too !!
Tomorrow is my mum's birthday...she turns 82. I am hoping to make the trip down to see her, the weather this week here has been cold and wet with thunderstorms. A another front with more thunderstorms is due today....so I am hoping it does arrive so the weather will be better for me for the drive tomorrow, don't want to do the trip in a thunderstorm.
This weeks weigh showed another small loss....400grams.

Have had a busy week, not that I am complaining. The two days a week I work leaves me the rest of the time to spend as I want. I look forward to extra shifts if I get them thou...I have a extra one on Thursday night.
My waterbed sprung a leak the other night, so some of my time has been spent shopping. Decided to get a "proper" mattress this time, one that will help both Ted and my back. We found a mattress that we both feel comfy on then decided what the heck and went looking and bought a whole new bedroom suite. I have never owned a brandnew bedroom suite.
Came home and looked at the crappy old carpet on the floor and decided to replace that too. Anyways the carpet has been ripped up, new carpet goes down tomorrow...and the new bedroom suite arrives on Thursday...would have loved it sooner but I work Tuesday & Wednesday's so no-one would be home.
Now I get the chance to shop for new curtains, bedside lamps, clocks and rugs :-)
Next thing on the list...is my kitchen. That was next on the list to be done, but I am too happy about the bedroom that I can wait a bit. I am ringing up tomorrow thou and getting someone to come and give me a estimated quote about what I want done.

Friday I had my little grandson Matthew for most of the day while Tanya went out for lunch with some friends. My cat usually runs and hides when the kids come, he is a very timid cat and hates the noise the kids make. Matthew found him and I was very surprised that he allowed Matty to cuddle him.

Its another week and its been a quiet one. Just had a long weekend, Monday was Foundation Day, but a boring one spent at home, was hoping Simon and Tracey would call in, they said they might....but we saw no-one and went nowhere. At least we were able to catch up on a few chores....well hubby did, I just pottered around doing not much at all. I thought a lot about Dad as it was his birthday last week, 10 years this year in October since he passed and ohhhh I still still miss him. He would be so proud of me I know. I promised him I would give up smoking and I managed that before he died and still haven't broken that promise. And I am still plodding away with my weight loss...he saw that yoyo over the years. I take after his side of the family, his sisters (my aunts) battled with their weight (and thyroid problems)constantly too.

Anyways must get off my butt....get some housework done and put the slow cooker on. I have work this arvo and a meeting tonight.

Ohhhh 400grams lost this week. My weight watchers "At Home" program runs out next week, and my consultant asked me to make the choice as to whether or not to continue on..or go it alone. I have learnt I can't do it on my own, I have failed too many times now....so have decided to go ahead and keep the consultants up. Belinda, my consultant is great, she has helped me out so many times since my return from holidays....and I do so want to go over to Melbourne and see Kylee looking and feeling great. So yep...the "good witch" hat is on....

All is well in my world.
Had Shawn here on Saturday for his access with his kids...a few pics above. Shayden turned 3 a few days before his visit so of course the cake came out....think Kaleb blew the candles out 3 times before Shayden finally managed to beat him. Shawn loves those kids...and at times he acts no older than them, its great to see.
Work is going okay. On Monday I started in Bunbury filling in for a friend, had a 6am start..so left home at 5.30am, its pouring down with rain, & 10k's up the road I get pulled up for liciense & tyre check and breathalyser !! Get to work, set up cleaning trolley and 1st job is center managers office. My biggest fear about that job was that the alarm there wouldn't disarm....guess what...it didn't!! I get in the office, have 3 seconds to pin in the code, did that, it says do it again, do it again and the next thing is its making a hell of a racket....I freaked out!!! Tried, and tried, and tried again...and finally it shut up! By this time I was a shaking mess!! Anyways got the offices done quickly, still shaky, armed the alarm with no trouble and went on with the rest of the jobs before I had to walk with security to open the doors at 8am.
At 9am I get a phone call asking if I can do an extra 2 hours and finish at 2pm instead of 12. Phewwwwww 8 hours on my feet...and boy was I footsore, I wore the wrong shoes...
Anyways....I still enjoy the work, its so social and I love the fact that I can have interaction with other people, never had that out the farm.

Weight...loss of 900g this week, slowly getting back down. Still have 4 kilo's to go to get back to pre-holiday weight...I am hoping to get there by the end of July for my trip to Melbourne. Onwards and downwards.

I have had a really great week, totaly on track...and it showed on the scales for me this week...down 800grams. I re-started the weight watchers at home program again, (I put it on hold while I recuperated from the op) and had my 1st weigh in on Wednesday morning. I was happy to see I was only 400grams up on where I was on my last weigh in on the 27th April (which was 2 days before my op).
I am in a better frame of mind at the moment, a lot happier now knowing that Mum hasn't got liver problems again. I am a lot happier in my new job, my legs are on the mend...just a whole heap more relaxed.
Yep...I like where I am at...and its showing...long may it last.

p.s. woohooooo.....just got a phone call from mum...thank the lord all is ok, nothing to worry about :-)

Last night, for the first time in a month, I managed to get to the local weight watchers group I go too. I have been going there for now for nearly a year, BUT I was astounded to notice in my weigh in book I have ONLY lost 1.3 kilo's (being night time weigh ins makes it look worse than my weekly morning weigh ins) !! Worse though is that I have lost and regained 8 kilo's in that time....sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez it is like....

what the Fuck am I doing.....

It is about time I got my act together....I seem to want to lose the weight, do all the right things but when "life" happens and I want to hide from it, I hide in food.....so of course begins the yoyo progress again. Last night I was so down and out about it all after looking at my progress (or lack thereof!), I decided enough is enough, time to get real....so lets see if this time is the right time and see if I can do it!!

Mum on Mothers Day at home

My brother brought Mum up for a few hours on Mother's day....we enjoyed scones, jam & cream that I made for morning tea...and chicken & salad for lunch, not that Mum ate much! Big bro made sure that nothing went to waste thou.
On Thursday Mum travelled up to Bunbury for her blood test/scans....all seemed to go ok though the dye they made Mum drink went straight throu her so we had to do a few very quick trips to the loo. All this was very distressing to Mum as she has had colon/bowel cancer and wears a permanent colonscopy bag.
Mum wouldn't allow me to go in while she had the scans....so it is now a wait till Mum's Dr gets the results and has her in for a visit....I am as nervous as :-(
Nothing much has been happening on the home front...dear hubby has had a dose of the man flu...had to have 2 days of work....but is recovering well now.
I am enjoying my new job..at the moment I am only working Tuesdays & Wednesdays but I also fill in for anyone that wants time off...and in a few weeks I will be working everyday for those 2 weeks. My legs should have no trouble coping with that, I have no problems with them at all whilst doing the few shifts I have been doing. I see the surgeon on Monday for a post op visit...hope I can stop wearing these stockings for a bit !!

Alls going well. The legs are improving daily, I am doing more each day without pain. I actually went into Bunbury yesterday, and what a delight it was to zip a pair of boots up over my legs. Before the op the only boots I was able to wear were ankle ones as my right leg was always swollen and about 3cm bigger than the other. I love boots...and will be buying some more when I can start earning a wage again. I am loving this not working, but also looking forward to going back to work. Love the new job, and espesially the shorter hours and I somehow do not think I will be going back to the farm. If I do go back it will only be one day a week...just for the $$$'s thou...now I can wear boots might need those $$'s !!!
Talking of $$'s...yesterday I paid out quite a few as we have decided to fit solar panels to the house in the bid to eventually save some $$'s. From all reports from family & friends that have already decided to do this...it is so worth it.
Have mum coming here for Mother's Day on Sunday, my brother is bringing her up. Mum has been seeing her Dr recently as she had some growths (moles) that were worrying her...so had them cut off. Her Dr run some bloods test & ordered ultrasounds on her as well as the results of blood tests showed her liver is not functioning properly. Ultrasounds done unfortunately don't show enough so Mum has to come up here to Bunbury and have more tests. As you can imagine it is a big worry to us, Mum has had liver cancer and had a huge fight to recover from that in 1994, she is now lot older and getting very frail. Might be worrying over nothing too, fingers crossed we are...
Have been using my new camera a lot of late....just happened to spot these noisy black cockatoo's the other day having a feed in some banksia tree's on our property....

Today is the last of the birthdays for this mad month of birthdays for us....today is my mans. He is at work today after the easter/anzac long weekend.

Op time is coming up real quickly...Friday is the big day. Yep...I am scared, hope it all goes well....and I recover quickly.

Happy Birthday Hannah

Have had a very busy week with work and birthdays so far. Monday I worked my 1st full shift as a cleaner in my local shopping center. At the end of the day boy was I footsore...but happy. I was kept busy the whole day and I enjoyed the work and the social aspect of the job. Straight after work it was up to see Matthew and give him his pressie and his birthday cuddle...
It was also Hannah's birthday Monday too....but I had given her her parcel on Kalebs birthday last Friday. But I called in and had a cuppa with her today...she was enjoying a visit from Jaydene and Shayden. She told me Kaleb has his 1st overnight stay next week in the lead up to him coming home...:-)
Today was weigh in day...very happy to report the scales were down 1.2 And so they should be....I worked darn hard to do that. This new pro-points is great, but I find I really have to work hard to get a decent loss....the "slush" fund (the 49 weekly points) is very tempting .... so this week I used all my 29 points on as many "filling foods" as I could and didn't touch the "slush fund" at all!!

Very funny mum !!!

That lovely lady above is my Mum. This was taken yesterday when I met up with her in Bunbury when a friend bought her up for the day. I have been very worried about her, and she is stressing out some herself as she has been going to the Drs to get some moles burnt off & cut out. She has one being cut out tomorrow which is quite a nasty looking one....but its her blood tests results we are concerned about. All the blood test results that came back were great except her liver. Her liver worries us as in 1994 she had liver cancer. Surgery was very major with pieces that were cancerous taken from both sides of the liver and then months of chemo. Next Thursday the 21st she is booked in for scans/ultrasounds on her liver. We pray that all is okay, mum is now 82 and though healthy we are not sure if she is strong enough to deal with anything major!Weigh in this morning, I stayed the same. My fault, although I did have 30 excersise points I used up the whole of my 49 weekly points on a sugar overload! All the walking just evened out the overload!

My new job starts officially on Monday with a shift from 9.30 to 4.30....geeee what a change that is from the farms hours. This job is only going to be part-time with so far only 12 hours a week, but I will also be filling in for any of the other girls when they are sick or on leave.

Monday I saw my surgeon re: my veins and my op is scheduled for April 29th. It is as he thought, the deep veins in my thighs are the worst and the ones he is very concerned about, so thats what he is going to concentrate on in surgery. He said it would be too much to do the whole legs in one go. Plus he is hoping that just doing the thighs it will relieve the pressure in the ones in my lower legs. He will review everything in 6 months time.
Weigh in was this morning, it was a stay the same. My fault as I used all my 49 weekly points on a sugar overload! Did do heaps of excersise but not enough to cover the sugar!!

Geeeeee blogger world is very quiet...is anyone here??

Not much happening on the home front. I was offered a job the other day, as a cleaner in shopping centre, so after going out to see my boss at the farm I have accepted it. I have someone coming to see me today to tell me all about it, hours etc.

The farm is very quiet. Its so dry, crops have been blown away in the dust (just seeded one's), have had no rain since heck knows when, the dams are nearly empty or empty so crops are limited! The farm actually looks terrible....the worst I have seen it in the 9.5 years I have worked there.

Anyways boss said accept this job as they can't offer me anything till July, and please consider them then as they need me. Nice to be appreciated ehhhh?

On the weight front...welllllllll thats slow but it is going down, 400 grams lost at weigh in this morning.

Shawn had a acccess visit at home on Saturday....it was really great to see his kids again. Boy have they grown....espesially Skye.

Great news for them, they will all be heading back to Hannah's fulltime this year, DCP lost the appeal to take the kids into their care for another 2 years. Hannah has been told Kaleb will join her & Skye in June, Shayden a few months later and Jaydene the last one will be home by November. Here's hoping so...and that Hannah can keep the kids happy & healthy. And more importantly the house clean, as her very dirty unsanitary habits were the main reason the kids were taken!!

Shawns 2 year avo is drawing to an end too...hopefully that will mean that with the kids coming out of DCP care that he will be able to see them more frequently by arranging visits with Hannah.

Shawn is happy....DCP have told him if he stays on the path he is on, that should Hannah not be able to cope and kids and need to taken out of her care again...he has a very good chance of having them instead of foster care. Lets hope for the kids sake that doesn't happen...they don't need anymore trauma's in their lives.

Shawn is still working, has even been made permanent. He is a lot calmer, happy with Shaz, he still has a low self - esteem, but he is working on that! Struggling with $'s due to all the court and centerlink fines which worries him greatly....but he is getting there.

I am getting used to this time off work....missing the $'s but enjoying all this time to myself. Have caught up on so many chores that were pushed aside as I just didn't have time to do. Can't go anywhere too much as the big Ford which we use for long trips is awaiting a part to stop the gears slipping...so unfortunately I can't go down and see mum...well I could but the little Ford runabout car I use for work is not the best to take mum out in. Hopefully the part will arrive before I go back to work and I can do a day trip.

I have been to the surgeon about my varicous veins, he sent me to have ultrasounds on my legs as he was quite concerned about some deep veins he found in my thighs. Had the ultrasounds on Tuesday and have black permanent markers dots all over my legs where apparently the veins are not working. Now I have to keep these dots marked till I see the surgeon on April 11th (or beforehand if a appointment becomes available!)

I had my little nearly 3 year grandson (Paul & Tanya's youngest) from 8.30 to 12 this morning. Isn't he just a real little charmer?

Weightloss is coming along real well...lost 1.2 this last week. Wasn't too sure how I would go being home and out of my planned work routine...but I am resisting all temptations and keeping myself busy. The online tracker (e-tools) I find is a real boost to me, makes tracking so much easier.

Kylee & Stephen sadly fly home tomorrow ...(sure am going to miss my girl!!)....hopefully work and my veins permitting I will fly over in late July for a visit. I have seen the surgeon re: my veins, I have to have a ultrasound next week as unfortunately he found some deep veins in my thigh which he is very concerned about. Will know more after he examines them...but if they are as bad as he thinks I may need more than one op!

After 6 weeks away I am back, me and quite a few more kilo's than I left with too....a whole 10 of them!! Right, no one to blame but me, my oroxine got wet and went to powder so what did I do...thats right nothing BUT continue to eat and drink way more than was needed too....

Anyways after one unholy scream when I saw the numbers on the scales....I have gotten on with it. Nil I can do but get on with it, the holiday is over and I have to get my arse into gear and get myself back into my regular routine....day 1 today and I doing it!

I have Simon's wedding next week and I bought a gorgeous dress today...just need a little bolero or a something to cover the arms....have all next week to do that in between hair and surgeons apppointments. My leg is unsightly at the mo...and my dress is 3/4 length....hope its not too hot as I will need to wear stockings...right now I am having second thoughts about wearing it.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy........I am on holidays!!! Tomorrow we meet our travelling companions in Kalgoolie so hoping to get a few hundred k's done tonight so we're not rushing tomorrow. I am all packed and raring to go....and so looking forward to seeing my girl. Staying with Kylee and Stephen for a few days & show Grant & Tina a little of Melbourne, going to visit Phillip Island then its climb on the boat & head to Tassie. No real plans there...but soooooooo looking forward to meeting my fellow blogger friend Nola.

My weigh in last Wednesday was a STS...but heck knows what the scales will show when I get back if I don't pull my head in & starting eating properly...the last few days I have been terribly BAD!!!

A week of birthdays

It has been a very week both here at week & at home. It has been a week or so of birthdays, my boss was on the 1st, then my sister on the 6th....then the little moppet in the pic with one of my chooks turned 4 on the 7th. On the 10th was Simon's, 11th was Pauls & on the 12th was my friend and ex workmate Zoe. Coming up on Sunday I have my eldest grandughter Jessica turning 9, then on the 20th Shaz has her birthday. To finish january I have a good friend having his birthday on the 21st.....phewwwwwwwwww!!

Tomorrow Shawn has his next access visit with his kids. I asked DCP to bring it forward so he can have the visit as it was scheduled for next weekend...but we won't be here.

I have only 4 working days to go, then Friday we pack up and head off. I want to go Friday night, but me man says Saturday morning..bahhhhhh

This weekend, even thou I have the kids most of Saturday I hope to get a fair bit of packing and sorting done. Most nights this week I have tackled a must do job so I am daily crossing off a job on my list.

On Wednesday I had my At Home weigh in.....happy to report in I am the lowest I have been in a long time....losing 1.2 kilo's!

Last night I had the ww group therapy weigh in...being an evening weigh it showed me 2 kilo's above that one.....but I showed a 500 gram loss from my previous weigh in .... so all good ehhh? (Actually the "group therapy" is a registered weight watchers group of Western Australia) Last night was last weigh in there till I get back from hols. I have a weigh in next Wednesday morning with my ww At home consultant.....and then I have 6 weeks away.

I best be away and start getting ready for bed...a big day tomorrow with Shawn, Shaz & the kids.

phewwwwwwww its been a long day. Started work at 7am and didn't clock off till after 6pm tonight!! TGIF !!!!

Last night was my ww meeting and I found out the difference between morning weigh's & night ones....1.3 !!! I knew it was going to be up but sheeeeeeeeez! In the end it turns out with weigh in last night I was up 1 kilo from my last weigh in before christmas, but down 600g from my last weigh in, which I did on my scales on what would have been my regular weigh in day/time.

( Yeahhh I know, its all very confusing !!) I sooooooooo prefer my early morning weigh ins but I will keep on with the evening ones till I go on hols...then I'll decide when I get back as to what I am going to record. I have filled in my at home book and found the tape and done all my measurements. I checked out my old ww books from when I journeyed to goal...and my measurements at my weight that I am now and then vary quite a bit.....amazing how our body shape changes as we mature ehhh?

Tomorrow morning my jabberwalk friend and I are off and walking in town again...its a lovely walk around the estuary....then we are going out for breakfast together...yummo.

I had my first weight watchers At Home weigh in and consult...and was happy.

My consultant Belinda is very upbeat and very chatty....very full on, but great. She I think is going to be so helpful. My weigh in was great, the scales showed me a great loss, but I weighed in at 6.15am so that was real different for me. My ww meeting is tomorrow evening so wonder what the difference is going to be as the scales said I was lower than my last ww meeting weigh...sooooo we'll see ehh?

Belinda reminded me to do my measurements today, but because I was running around after the phone consult finishing off chores before rushing out the door to work I didn't !

Speedway..yahoooooo

We travelled down to Manjimup yesterday afternoon and spent a couple of hours with mum before heading out to the speedway track. Was very proud of myself as mum placed lots of yummy's on the table to have with our coffee's but I resisted all. Ted had a few pieces...told me her fruit cake was the best!!
Out at the track I bought a hamburger, heaps of propoints but ohhhhhh so worth everyone of them...it was yummmmmmmmmo! I took fruits for snacks, and thermos's for coffees.
I stayed away from the soft serve icecream van, a real weakness of mine...espesially a sundae with spearmint sauce and nuts...and a chocolate flake !!!! yep...that halo of mine is glowing!
The racing was absolutely fantastic and worth the gate price...so happy we went. I would go back racing in a heartbeat if it wasn't so costly and time consuming. I enjoyed it immensly while I was so have heaps of memeories of some darn good times.
Caught up with some great people that we used to race with, they are still racing but they are wondering with the costs as they are for how long!

Well its the last day of 2010....

I worked, and the routine helped me stay on track. A night in for us, too tired to go out so more than likely I will sleep 2011 in...I quite often do.

Over the 3 days I have off we will more than likely head down to Manjimup to see mum, and get a bit of speedway action in while there, as there is a huge meet on .... love my speedway!

Yep it was weigh in night....I weighed in on my scales AND I was up big time....more than I thought. I knew I had been bad, but SHIT didn't think I had been that bad!!!

ahhhh well....got a week to get my shit together and see what I can do by next weigh in!

Have had a good day...been on track, been using my tracker...and now off to do kitchen duties...then my stint on my ab machine.....then its off to bed for me.

I am not happy with myself for "scoffing" all those choccies last night...I seem to love sabotaging myself don't I?

I woke up this morning determined that I was going to stay on track....from now till we leave on hols. Believe it or not there is only 24 more days to go. Where has time gone? Our friends that we are travelling with rang yesterday...they too are counting down the days....as is Kylee, she can't wait to see us!

Anyways food has been good today....not enough vegies but tomorrow they are on the menu so thats okay.

Also committed myself to doing at least 20 sit-ups a day on my ab machine as well as my daily walk.

Meant to be weigh in tomorrow evening but my ww group doesn't reopen till next week so think I will weigh in on my scales. That won't be pretty, know by my clothes I have gained, but I'll grimace and take it...no-one to blame but ME!!

UPDATE....welll it was a better day till just before I went to bed I found the grandies choccies that they left!!!

Had a lot better day today. Started off with over an hour walk with my buddy.
Food wise, I have stuck to eating the usual filling/satisfing foods....and they have seemed to satisfy me more today. Had a few nibbles at things that I shouldn't have but other than that have been on track.
Tomorrow its back to work for me so I'll drag that tracker out and start the planning and tracking like I should have done today.

I was up early and Deb and I met up at 6.30 and went walking for an hour. Came home and had poached egg on toast, a piece of bacon and grilled tomato....a very filling breakfast.....but by 11oçlock I was looking for more to eat.

Don't know what it was but no matter how much I ate, and I chose filling and satisfying foods and fruit.....I was looking for more.

So stooooopid me...looked at the sweet/snack foods and I have over indulged like there would be no tomorrow !!!

But a tomorrow there be will be and it will be a better day I hope.

and sorry for myself today.

Was out walking early this morning and a big banksia tree fell just in front of me....branches knocked my glasses off my face, grazed my left shoulder and other scratches and bruises are making themselves known to me now. Luckily some other walkers came along just after and found my glasses....one lens had popped out but they found that too (thank heavens as the glasses are just new) and popped it back in. No damage done to them, not even a scratch on the lens thankfully. I am a very very lucky lady, the tree was a old and large, if it had hit me I wouldn't be here now.

All on track today and hopefully to stay there too....

So far today I have had the greatest day....its been wonderful sharing my day with all my family.
After working all day Friday I spent till 11pm last night preparing food, cleaning plus wrapping pressies. Then I was up at 6am this morning finishing off .... but all my efforts paid off, it was good..I am stuffed!!

And pffffft ..... I did say I was going to eat and drink in moderation today and count points!! Guess what??
I DIDN'T !!!!
I tried....but all good intentions...blah blah blah.....

I am so PEEVED off as I do have to work tomorrow....bugger bugger bugger!!!!!

I had so much I wanted to do tomorow and now will have to run around like a mad woman getting everything done! Half the pressies aren't wrapped, thats going to be a marathon effort with all the grandies I have !! At least Ted has finished work so he can hose down the patio, clean out the outdoor fridge and get the lawns mowed!

Ted and I went into Bunbury tonight bought and all bought the fruit and veg....thought it would be so busy, but surprize surprize it wasn't too bad at all.

Anyways have stayed on track again. Hopped on the scales tonight....as its usually weigh in night and my scales have said I have stayed the same....happy with that for now....but hoping next week for a loss!!

on propoints...and I am getting there. Some things are still confusing but I will get there. Its mainly all the point values that get to me, just have to forget about all the other ww programs and all those point values and relearn all these new ones. But I will get there. The program reminds me a lot of the Core program...using filling foods that are high in protein which adds to the feeling of fullness. Anyways so far today I have eaten well following all the guidelines and haven't felt hungry at all.
Tomorrow I am ringing ww to set up a appointment for my 1st consult.

Today has been day 2 and I have so far managed it well. Was up early and went walking for 35 minutes. I am eating as many "filling" foods as I can....and I must say I have not felt hungry at all today. All the point values are so different so a lot of my time is spent flicking throu my books or using my calculator to find out the points. Fruit is free but I am very aware that it also has a lot of sugar in it so I making sure I don't eat TOO much!

Other than that all is good.

I am walking in my new hiking shoes that I bought yesterday....got to make sure that they are well and truly worn in by the time we leave, for the price I paid for them I want to get my money's worth out of them!

I have struggled a little but I am getting there. Everything has new values...there is just no comparison between the old points and these propoints, they are so different....but once I get my head around it all I think I will enjoy it. Love that fruit is now no points, but still have to be careful not to overindulge as there is a lot of sugar in it!

I have come in, on my calculations on points...and I am not hungry....so happy about that.

I am determined to give it a good go, even working on counting points on christmas day...

Early Christmas

No post last night as it was our work christmas "do " It was a great night, lovely food, never ending drinks and lots of laughs....a very enjoyable night after a long hard day.

Woke up late yesterday morning, very unlike me to sleep throu the alarm but I did. No time for a walk, no time to pack a planned healthy lunch, or have a good healthy filling breakkie...so all good intentions went flying out the window.

And today...started the day with all good intentions, up early and went out walking...then Shawn arrived, followed soon after by his kids.....and by lunchtime I was eating all the festive food I supplied for the kids early Christmas with their daddy.

ahhhhhhhh well tomorrow is a new day. And I hope to get back on the wagon and start on the new ww propoints. My kit arrived FINALLY on Friday.

Weigh in was tonight...nearly 9.20 and only just got home! It was our awards night and then we had our Christmas supper(we all took a plate). We won't be back till the first week of January for our regular meetings now. Anyways tonight the scales rewarded me with a 500gr loss.

The one day I wanted to finish early and I had to work all day...it was a long tiring and busy day.....so now I am off to bed....nite nite xx

Managed to have a bit of a lay in this morning as I didn't have to start work till 9am. I got up at 6 and said cya to Ted, donned the joggers and took off with my discman and earphones as per usual and walked for an hour....it felt good!

Home, made myself a big breakfast of cereal, skim milk, banana & peaches....and devoured the lot. I needed to have extra as starting late I wouldn't be entiltled to a smoko break at 10am. For lunch made myself a ham, cheese & salad wrap and an apple...and that kept me going till dinner time. And I was lucky enough to finish early too....

When I got home found a message on phone from OPSM saying my new glasses were ready so I hopped back into the car and headed in to pick them up....what do you think?

Dinner was a steak & salad sandwich...all good & on track still. Weigh in tomorrow night....hopefully a loss!!

I got my wish and finished work early today. Sure helped as I was able to post some parcels, get a few things from the shop for the kids on Saturday as well as get to and do some cooking. On Thursday after our weigh in and meeting we will be having a supper and each person brings a plate. I got to and made a bacon and leek pie for the supper and some muffins for the freezer. While I was waiting for the muffins to cook I received a phone call from work telling me I have a late start in the morning...not required to 9am. Must remember to have a big breakfast and a extra coffee....starting that late there will be no smoko break and I will have to work throu to lunch. Geeee hope starting later doesn't mean we will be working later....I am liking these early finishes!

Anyways another day totally on track .... starting the day with a 30 minute walk. Woke up at the usual time, rolled over and dozed for 10 minutes umming and ahhing about getting up thinking maybe one day without a walk won't hurt BUT decided it would so got up and donned the joggers.

What a day!
Left for work on time but due to roadworks arrived at work 5 minutes later than normal, so had to rush around getting the machines all up and ready to go...but I got there. Tomorrow I'll leave a little earlier !
Tried Special K chocolae flakes for breakkie this morning, very chocolatey, tasty and filling. Love my chocolate but seemed very strange eating it for breakkie :-)
Tuna, sliced plastic cheese and crackers followed by a tub of yogurt for lunch.
Finish work an hour earlier so that gave me time to zip into Bunbury and pick up Skye's chrissy present from Shawn ready for him to give on Saturday. Its his access visit and his and the kids Chrissy day....so should be fun. Any idea's as to what to give them for their lunch?
I also picked up to two wii games, one each for Caitlin & Ashlee (Paul's girls) as Santa is giving them a wi for chrissy. Stopped at the post office and picked up a couple of postage bags, my job this evening is to wrap a few pressies and prepare for posting ofter work tomorrow.
Just finished a yummy scotch fillet steak, a half of potato, slice of pumpkin and other vegies for dinner.

geeeeeee where has the weekend gone....it just flown by.
Skye had a great evening, slept all night and woke up at nearly 7.30 and then devoured 2 boiled eggs and toast soldiers !
Hannah rang me later on in the morning and said she would be a little late in picking up Skye as her house was broken into last night and had to wait for the police.
Shawn rang soon after and said he had just had a phone call from Hannah and she asked him where he was last night, virtually accusing him of breaking in and trashing her place.
Welllll boy was I fuming...when she did get here I let her have it both barrels....I was not happy!! How dare she?
The avo is still in place, Shawn is not allowed any contact with her, be within 100 meters of her house BUT she is allowed to do whatever!
After she left, I quickly dashed off into town again....and completed Kylee and Stephens chrissy parcel...that will be posted tomorrow. Just about done now...happy about that.

Today has been a busy day.

Started the day with a 50 minute early morning walk, came home, cooked breakfast of grilled tomato and bacon on a piece of toast....and coffee!

Washing done, cleaned and then went off into town to pick up Skye. Organised to "accidently " run into Shawn so he could see his big girl. The smiles on their faces at their "surprise" meeting was one I will treasure.

After the catch up, achieved a whole pile of xmas gift shopping, had a great helper in Skye thou I didn't get as much done as I hoped. Maybe tomorrow....

Had lunch in town...a chicken and salad wrap (no cheese or dressings) for me...chips and chicken nuggets for Skye.

Home and play time with Skye....colouring in, sticker books, play dough (afternoon tea of diet jelly & yogurt)....and then cooking dinner. Steak and sandwich for hubby and I and Skye wanted scrambled eggs from the freshly laid eggs she collected out of the chook pen this arvo...

A great day with my lovely girl, and a day on track....

Counting down

Yesterday it was exactly 6 weeks till my last day at work before our holiday to Tassie. wowwwww 6 weeks, or 42 days.....not long to go now. I am on the countdown.

The last 2 days I have been a real "Miss Piggy" ..... honestly don't know why but I should know better, it only makes it harder on me!! Think it was knowing that I didn't have to weigh in on the Thursday night and that we were having our ww dinner instead.... sheeeeeez any excuse ehhh? The dinner wasn't all that good anyways.....was disappointed in a lot of the meal. The night out and the company was great though!

NOW I have to pull my finger out and get tracking and excersing again and try and lose what I may have gained plus extra. Next Thursday is my last weigh in of the year at my meeting. But I will be weighing in once a week at home for my Pro-points At Home program...wellllllllll I will if it ever arrives! Its still not here yet. I was under the impression from a email I had received that it was on its way....but noooooooooo it hasn't even been sent yet, they apologised in another email received yesterday saying they were waiting for a out of stock item and it should be posted Monday. I am soooooooo disappointed in them and the wait, why wasn't I told all this when I rang and ordered.....if I had known it was going to taking this long I wouldn't have wasted my money....would have done it online instead.

Anyways from today I am making a commitment to myself to a daily blog entry, tracking my days online....a extra incentive to me to keep me on track. I would like to lose some more weight and get as close as I can to my goal before I leave for Tassie.

All else is going well.

I have made my booking for the surgeon, I see him after our holiday. When speaking to his receptionist she said as I have private health cover I can virtually chose when to have the op for my veins done and unless it was urgent I should leave it till winter as I will have to have support stocking s on all day.....summer is not an ideal time to be wearing those!!

Shawn is going real well, still has his " off " days but they are few and far between now. The people he was working for have called him back and for the last week or so he has been back at work....that has helped him and his self esteem lots....plus money wise it has been a great boost as Shaz was doing seasonal work and that finished last week !

yay thankfully its Friday again....another long week done ! I got my pay slip today and even having last Friday off I still managed to do over 80 hours for the fortnight! I am tired, and seeing that payslip I can see part of the reason why!! The other part is menopause....its totally sux....wish it would just disappear...heck I am 55 in a couple of months, surely its time. This week I have had to suffer TTOM...where they come from or why I have no idea, but the stomach cramps and bloating is something I just didn't need or want! Guess thats why I only lost a 100grams at weigh in last night. I'd had a great week too! Today I have given myself a free day....just couldn't be bothered eating/tracking and doing everything right! I so need a change, wish my propoints kits would hurry up and arrive. Think what I am doing is getting somewhat stale...need something/everything to change!

Next week is our Christmas dinner for our weight loss group so no weigh in....but I will get myself back on track in the morning and see what I can do. I still do want to be as close to goal as I can for our holiday.

Tomorrow heading off to get my haircut and coloured....looking forward to that...its getting too long. Then its chrissy shopping....it needs to be finished !

Long weekend

My weekend began on Friday when I had the day off that I booked off over a month ago when we organised the "meet & greet" of a few of us from the "At Home" weight watchers group that I particate on, on the weight watchers site online.

I travelled up to Mandurah where I met up with Robyn, then hopped onto the train and made our way to the city. Rob & I are both real country bumpkins and don't know our way around the city at all...but we managed to find our way to the meeting place (and back to the station 5 hours later with out getting lost).

We all got on like a house on fire and ate, drank coffee and chatted & chatted.....it was an absolutely wonderful day! I didn't want it to end.

But end it did....

I was only home an hour then Simon and Tracey dropped off their kids, they stayed over Friday & Saturday night. They are great kids and always behave for me. I took them up to the pool Saturday arvo after we grocery shopped and had lunch....it was hot and they had a ball. They slept like babies that night.

Sunday Shawn had his access visit here so I had his 4 kids here as well. Skye had her 7th birthday during the week so I asked Tanya & Paul to bring their 3 out and we had a little party for Skye. It was wonderful...I had 11 out of my 12 grandies here....and even managed a pic of the 11 together !! And a lovely pic of my 6 gorgeous grandaughters. The kids all had a blast....and despite all the goodies thet were there for the "get together" I managed to stay on track.

p.s. Anne, the grandie missing is Luke, he is 14 and lives in Perth with his mother. He is Paul's son from his 1st relationship.

Have had a great week...I have tracked 100% ... my motto was "if I bite it, I write it " and it worked, weigh in was tonight and it was goodbye to 1.5 kilo's. Last weeks gain has gone plus a little extra....happy with that as I worked hard to nail that !! I hated that gain !!

Am off to Peth tomorrow to meet some fellow weight watchers...then back home to a houseful of grandies....have Simon and Tracey dropping off their 4 who will be staying over tomorrow and Saturday night...and on Sunday Shawn has his access visit here so there will another 4. Its going to be fun, might ring Paul and Tanya and get them to bring out their 3 to join in. Skye turned 7 last week so we will be having a little party with icecream cake for her.

I bit the bullet....

After hearing so much about the new ww program pro-points I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered the "At Home" kit. They are just waiting on my cheque to arrive and then will send it to me....should have it in 2 weeks.

I love the meeting I go to now, its different, its relaxed and more social than any other group I have been too so I thought I'd make my At Home weigh in the same day as my group weigh in.
And while on the subject of the "At Home" program I quite often get on the ww community boards and my favourite for the last 5 or more years has been the At Home one. Over the years I have been "chatting" regulary with a few of them....and after all this time 5 of us are all getting together and having a "meet and greet" in Perth next Friday. I am so looking forward to that, I organised the day off weeks ago.

And talking about weigh ins...I went to mine last night and the results were NOT good. I gained 1.2 kilo's...sheeeeeeez!! I was hoping I had at least stayed the same but despite all my efforts of counting my points and tracking 100% I was disappointed. I did have a blow out last Thursday night, plus had 2 pieces of cake at the 60th on Saturday night....and for the rest of the week I walked everyday and had 18 to 20 points.

I know its not all FAT that has caused the gain....another thing that I bit the bullet about has been my leg. I have various veins very badly in my right leg, it is mostly swollen to about 2 cm's bigger than my left one but it has never given me any grief till this last week. We have had a very busy week at work and I have worked overtime most days and standing constantly caused it to swell even more, quite a lot more, and throb. After 2 nights of pain in my leg I rang my Drs for an appointment and I am going to see what can be done...and how soon ?? Appointment is early next week. Think I have left it long enough.

Damn it !!

I had a easier week this week, work wise as well as "diet" wise...all seemed to be going well so I thought ahhhh I am in for a hassle free week.

Shawn went to court on Monday for his drunk and disorderly....he LOST his drivers liciense for 3 months for "intending to drive drunk" .... and a $360 fine.

On Tuesday he went back to work (Shaz dropping him off as she went to work) and yesterday he was told he no longer had a job....the job apparently requires him to have a liciense. He rang yesterday, despondent but okay.....he was more worried that Shaz was going to be irrate with him again. Haven't heard anymore from him so fingers crossed he/they can get throu this.

Kylee is missing her mum ... now Christmas is getting closer she always gets homesick. But it won't be too long and we'll be heading thataway as we go head off on our Tassie trip. Its ONLY 60 days before we hit the road on the start of that trip.....geeeeeee must get too and book the Tassie Princess before we miss out on the date we want.....

We'll spend a few days with Kylee before we board the boat and of course some time on our return before we head home across the nullabour again....and Kylee and Stephen will be flying home a few days later for Tracey and Simons weddding....

Last night was weigh in again...goodbye to 500 grams.....then I come home and blew it.....bugger me and my emotional eating...

Last night Shawn was still very teary, was still not eating, still very much in shock about what he had done and missing Shaz so much. He spent a good 2 hours chatting to her on the phone last night.

This morning he was feeling a little more positive though he still wasn't eating, still teary but the trembling had stopped. He was looking very much so to his kids coming out and spending the day with us.

This morning my friend and I met up at 8am and went for a 30 minute walk then went in for an hour session of zumba again. I am still not very coordinated but heck I really enjoyed it today....and worked up quite a sweat. When I arrived home Shawn was on the phone to his Shaz again so progress was being made.

After a hectic 6 hours with the kids....I took Shawn back to his house in town....he was spending tonight getting the house back in order and Shaz is going back tomorrow. They are going to give it another go...Shawn has learnt his lesson this time I think, I hope....time will tell.

....in other words Shawn lost the plot again.
His house was broken in to on Thursday and with that something clicked inside his head, he got angry, got drinking and the temper exploded. It scared his Shaz and she left him as she was scared today, Shawn then drank some more, got picked up by the police for drunk and disorderly conduct and I now have him here. He is a mess...a blubbering trembling crying mess. Think finally the truth has sunk in. I went and saw his lady today, and she thinks she'll give him a second chance, she loves him...but there will be conditions. I think he'll do anything to win her back...I have never seen him in this state before.
god my stomach is a big quivering mess of jelly....I am so scared for him. Know what ever he did has scared Shaz, and I know what he is can be capable of, and so was Shaz as she has seen him like this before, but I am so scared .... scared that he'll fail again...and that I will lose him all together....
All these months and only a few minor hiccups with him and now this....was I expecting too much...god damn it, I was.

Its very quiet in blogging world or is it just me?

Know I am not a very social person, me and hubby don't have much of a social life, too darn tired after a long week of work anyways. People have been known to say we are boring....but heck its not we are anti-social...we both enjoy a good night out occassionaly and love nothing better than a night with good friends and a good ole chinwag. So am I boring I wonder ??

This week has been the week from hell...work has been craptastic..if there is such a word...but the crap part of it says it all. But despite the workload from hell I still managed a walk every day and I tracked every bite that went in my mouth. Menopause and those damn hot flushes plagued me all week too....so I didn't know what to expect when I climbed on those demon scales last night. The hormones won....and the demons told me that AGAIN I had stayed the same!

The home front has been very quiet...Mr Troublesome has been no trouble...he is still working...as for the others I haven't heard much at all. Kylee I have rang as we are trying to organise our mother/daughter trip to Phuket next year..all the special deals are just coming out....but I must ring Mr Simon...he has been very quiet! Paul works with hubby so know all well there and anyways Tanya and I talk to each other at least once a week.

Time to organise dinner....a steak and onion sandwich (with salad) ...yummoooo

phewwwww what a week...sooooooo happy its Friday evening and I'm home with coffee in hand and feet up !! Work days have been long and the work has been hard.....just wish it would slow down just a little and let me catch my breath, I am weary.
I nearly had some time off...luckily I can handle a car well as driving home on Wednesday evening in the drizzling rain a kangaroo jumped out of the bush, onto the road and then landed fair square on the middle of my bonnet, bounced off through the force of hitting my car over the roof and just missed the car following me. I was turning off the highway and just entered a exit to cross the dual highway onto the road I live on so thankfully I had reduced my speed. The damage could have been so much worse. After crossing the highway...I stopped and checked the car, the car following me also stopped and made sure I and the car were okay too. No other damage to the car other than the bonnet so I drove the remaining 2 k's home.
Hubby arrived home about 10 minutes after me and on handing him his cuppa I said you better come and have a look at this.....and showed him the car. Without saying a word...he reached into his car and handed me this gorgeous rose bush....

....how sweet is he? As he said these things do happen, I was okay and that was the main thing. Anyways...a new bonnet will be on the car tomorrow.

Weigh in was last night....stayed the same....can't complain about that as I have had a week of not tracking properly...very complacent after last weeks big loss I think.

Tomorrow morning instead of walking I am trying zumba for the first time.....should be a laugh, believe me I am not very co-ordinated.

A very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Shawn...a big 28 today. Hope he's had a great day...will catch up with him over the weekend. Some good news for him...he has a job and a car..wooohooooo! The car is only a $1000.00 bomb, but it goes well and is getting him from A to B. The job is at a retaining wall company...pleaseeeeeeeeee let him keep this job, pleaseeeeeeeee let him stay off the booze and weed coz thats what causes him to lose the jobs, his moods change drastically and then the abuse starts....pleaseeeeeee don't let it happen this time! He seems still to be happy with Shaz, so lets hope that continues. He really likes this job so pleaseeeeeeeeee let things stay good for him.

One bad thing about the job is that he is going to have trouble getting time off for court and the DCP case. He doesn't want to tell his boss about it all and he thinks he might just ring DCP and tell them about this job and his wants about the kids and see what they say.

Above for those that haven't seen on Facebook is the result of my pampering session at the hairdressers. I am happy with the result I think. Still tending to think the red is a bit too red...still needs to be lightened some....and I think I will get it a little shorter next time.

With me is Skye.....she spent Saturday shopping with me and then overnighted...I took her back on Sunday. Just loved having some one on one with her.

Work has been frantic....lots of staying back playing catch ups...hopefully they will get extra staff so we don't have to work so damn hard.

And to finish....weigh in was last night....I am one very happy girl....I LOST 1.5 KILO'S .... how good is that ???

Its been a long week

Its been such a busy week....work has been sooooooo busy I feel as thou I have lived at the bloody place. Most days I have done over 9 hours a day, mostly closer to 10 hours. Most of the crew are going to work tomorrow....but no way in the world am I. Thankfully I have a hair appointment so a pamper session after this past week is gonna be awesome !!

Not much else has been happening in the world of Jen. Haven't seen the kids or the grandies. Shawn had a job for all of 5 minutes, poor kid nothing seems to go right for him of late. He got the job, and on day 1 he was driving to work and his dratted car blew up !! He rang the job finding place he got the job throu and told them what had happened and all they could say was "tough luck, your're fired !! So now he is madly looking around for a cheap car...gonna have to help him there as he needs transport as he has been told by another job finding agency that if he has transport they have another job for him....fingers crossed !

Kylee has started doing voluntary work for the blind dogs association for a few hours on Fridays....and she is loving it. I love the fact that her main job is to excersise the dogs...and that means walking them! Kylee doesn't get a lot of excersise in and her being a big girl and looking in the future to have kids excersise and losing weight needs to happen.

Paul and Tanya and their kids have been to Kalgoolie on hols, they had a ball....and as for Simon and Tracey well I haven't heard a thing from them. Was hoping to have the kids for a bit over the hols...looks like they were all busy.

ohhh just had a call...Skye wants to come and have a sleepover before she has to go back to school...woohooooo

And a big wooohoooooo last night was weigh in....goodbye to 1 kilo !!

.....any weight at my weigh in last night...in fact I GAINED 200 lousy little grams. Wasn't too happy as I thought I'd had a great week. But on thinking about it I didn't walk every day, and with warmer weather happening this last week I don't think I drank enough water. Note to myself...I MUST INCREASE MY WATER INTAKE !!!

Shawn ... and Hannah....had to go to court today...DCP are applying to have their kids remaining in their custody for ANOTHER 2 years. Bloody hell...Shawn was gobsmacked and very upset, but so proud of him too as he didn't go looking for the drugs to dull the hurt like he usually does! He still does use them BUT happy to say nowhere near as much or as often as he used too. I would love him to quit them all together but what he has done is great. Anyways Shawn is going to legal aide on Monday and is going to apply for aide to help him with this DCP application.....Hannah already has a lawyer.

I have put up a few pictures of the wildflowers on our block....they are fantastic this year. A lot of orchids....more than we had in previous years.

What with my brothers birthday the other day and Chris H comment about Rosemary on one of my posts my mind has been a little in the past of late. Thinking about life and what could of been, what might of been and so on. The pic above is the last pic taken of our brood. Simon, Paul, Rosemary, Shawn and Kylee. I only carried 3 of those 5 under my heart...but the other 2 grew in my heart. Ted and I met in 1981, I was the mother of Simon, he was the father of Paul and Rosemary...it was you love me, you love my kids...his kids were my kids, my kid was his kid and thats the way it stayed. There was never any of the disputes that you see sometimes with some combined families. They all grew up together thou not always together, sometimes Paul and Rosemary were with their mother and Simon was with his father but bond they all did. They are still close today but not as close as they were before we lost Rosemary in the accident...the photo above was taken a month or so before she was killed in 1996...she was 23.

Life goes on.....

Friday today and I am home, work thankfully is quiet. Its a long weekend this weekend with Monday being a public holiday so I have a whole 4 days off work. Plenty to catch up on around the house and garden so thats what I will be doing. Off very shortly for my walk..today with my friend Deb.

Last night was weigh in night too....I said goobye to 550grams...still have a long way to go but I am a getting there......

Today is my brother 59th birthday.....he was killed in 1979 aged 27.

I was 23 when he was killed and today I still miss him heaps.

He was older than me by nearly 5 years but we were the middle kids of the of the 4 of us and we were very close.

Another week has flown by.

Had a quiet weekend and a lovely friend call in for a visit. Sharon and I met when she started working at the farm where I am about 6 years ago. She left a few years back and moved up to Kojonup and we have stayed in contact. I learnt earlier on this year she lost one of her sons in a car accident but I hadn't managed to see her until she called in on Saturday. Poor love I really felt for her, its hard to lose someone you love, espesially your own child. All I could do was hug her, wipe her tears. Having been in her shoes with the loss of our Rosemary I knew I couldn't take away her pain but I could listen as she talked.
Sharon stayed for for 3 hours or so and the next day I got a lovely text message from her to say she had arrived back home and thanked me for being there for her.

Kylee rang me on Monday asking me if I wanted some really really good news, she sounded so excited. And yeahhh it was good news. Jemma...Kylee's childhood friend (she was a bridesmaid at her wedding) had rang her and told her she was expecting her 1st child. Jemma is the daughter of our best friends (who I posted a pic of in my last post) so of course I had to ring Tina and congratulate her and ask was it going to effect our holiday to Tassie. Of course if Jemma was due around that time we would have had to change dates....but the bub is about 6 weeks after we get home. This will be Tina and Grants 2nd granchild...their son and daughter in law had a baby a month after we got back from our NT holiday...coincidence ehhh??

Deepest sympathy to my blogger friend Anne on the loss of her beloved hubby Peter.
Anne and Peter did call in for a visit, chat and a cuppa, when they did their tour of the south west earlier on this year . You're in Ted and mine thoughts every step of the way Anne.

After a looooong week Thursday night came around all too soon. I had a good week but ate way too many snacks and treats and wasn't sure how that would reflect on the scales. A very bad habit that I am going to have to stop. Excersise was good, managed a walk nearly every morning before work, only missed 1 morning so happy with that. Anyways the scales showed another 500g loss....can't complain at all about that.

Above is a pic of me, hubby & Tina and Grant. Tina & Grant are our best friends...and our travelling companions. We did our Northern Territory together last year and next year they will driving across the nullabour with us and hopping on the Spirit of Tasmania and touring Tassie with us. Geeeeeeee the time is going by quickly, I can still remember us sitting around a camp fire on our trip last year planning this trip. Grant & Tina are coming down from Geraldton this month for a quick visit and we will finalise a few more little details.

Nothing much has been happening. Shawn still looking for work...thankfully Shaz is working. Paul has the flu and has had to have days off, Simon is busily rounding up addresses, his and Tracey wedding invites are being made shortly....and Kylee is looking forward to our Tassie trip too coz that means daddy & mummy will be in Melbourne with her again.
