Here I am again…

Right, this week I’m still battling the flu, a bad cough and stiffly snuffly nose. And no….it’s not Covid. I’ve tested and I’m negative. So this past week I’ve either felt like not eating, or I’ve been over eating ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‘

The scales….a stay the same.

I was hoping to catch up with another old school friend on Thursday. Anne flew over from Melbourne to catch up with family and friends. We tried, but by the time she passed through here I was only a few minutes off starting work. Told her to go through and spend the extra time with her niece who unfortunately is terminally ill.

Next time Anne.

Friday the kids went to their Dads after school/daycare. Kylee usually goes up to Mandurah after her work Saturday and picks them up after their overnight visit and then spends the night and next day with Micheal and his daughters. This weekend she couldn’t as one of the daughters got put into isolation due to being a close contact during the week. She so far no symptoms but Micheal tested positive Saturday. So I went up to Mandurah with Kylee and picked up the kids. Miss Summer turned 4 today so whilst with Dad they had a early party. OMG ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ what did they feed her, must have been a huge sugar overload ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐ŸŽ‚All the way home that little girls sang, laughed, wriggled and giggled ๐Ÿคญ Kylee took nearly 2 hours to get her to settle after dinner and bath before she would finally sleep๐Ÿ˜ด …. But then she was up at crack of dawn. And today….the excitement was still there, she was bouncing off the walls all day.

Thankfully….she was soooooo tired tonight I had her in bed, tucked in, storybook read and asleep by 7pm.

Now it’s my turn, it’s been a long day.

Night night.

Saturday weigh

And just like that it’s the weekend again.

That means Saturday weigh in. A loss of 400g to record today. Yay, the scales are still moving down. Finally I think my reflux has gone. Today for the first time in what seems like forever I haven’t got that horrible taste in my mouth but I still have a bit of a cough still.

Daughter is on her 5 nights straight, so have the kids. This morning took them to the bookstore where William cashed in his literacy book award he got at the end of last year, then we went shopping. Because the kids were well behaved they were rewarded with a treat of a milkshake while I had coffee and a bacon and egg sandwich for brunch.

Looks like a busy weekend with kids. Doesn’t give me much of a weekend off. But…it is what it is…

Reflux

The reflux has still been giving me grief. The cough is still annoying, I’m not as lethargic thankfully. Dr said I just have to let it take it’s course so hopefully that will be soon, can’t come soon enough.

My appetite is returning so maybe the end can’t be too far away. My fingers are crossed, I’m tired of being tired.

I weighed in yesterday  instead of today as I’d made plans to drive down to a coastal town an hour away to catch up with a girlfriend of many years. Actually we met in year 1. We lost contact for many years but thanks to Facebook we caught up again and have since had a few catch ups over the years.

So I weighed in yesterday and saw to my delight a 1.4K loss. I couldn’t leave for our lunch date till 12 due to 2 other appointments.

I’m usually a jeans and t-shirt girl but this summer I’m loving dresses. For lunch with Linda I decided to “pretty” myself up and wear my favourite dress.  Losing weight does make me feel good….here’s hoping this week I can keep this feeling happening.

Going Down…

Finally the scales went down. 300g loss.

It’s been a hard week, I was and still am suffering from a bout of reflux. The cough, the lack of sleep because of the cough, the lethargy…… and thankfully no heartburn. But ohhh the cough, it’s killing me!! I hadn’t been taking my tablets for a awhile so now I suffer. Actually it’s been more than a week, I though I had a cold a few weeks ago but I think it’s been reflux all along.

Long weekend here, but I have a work shift today. Wasn’t doing anything anyways, too tired to get of my own way at the moment.

No weigh in..

No weigh in this week. Out Friday for birthday lunch, then I carried onto Saturday. Sunday was my birthday, so there was cake, cheesecake and and and…

Monday and Tuesday were more celebrations, mine and a friends but Wednesday I called it quits. I was feeling quite yuk and bloated and wasn’t enjoying scoffing down whatever. I was actually looking forward to some heathy choices.

I started off by mixing myself up some shakes to start the days off and then salads for lunch. I’ve made tuna bake, chicken hot pot and a breakfast slice (and froze a few meals) so long may this continue.

A holiday in June to look forward to. Made no plans as yet, Covid will no doubt constrict as to where we can go.

But if it’s out in the bush, or by water away from everything I’ll be happy.

No loss….

But no gain either, I had a stay the same. I weighed in yesterday as my bestie was taking me out for lunch for a early birthday  celebration ๐Ÿฅณ ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ‚

Don’t think I’ll be having a sts next weigh….what celebrating yesterday, today been indulging as well and tomorrow my birthday….omg I’m being a real Miss Piggy. Ohh well, it’s a once a year celebration….and this birthday means in 6 months time I can retire ๐Ÿ˜˜

In June hubby and I plus some friends were heading off for a months holiday up in the top end of WA. Just found out that it will have to put on hold. Where we want to go goes through Aboriginal owned and managed land and due to Covid they are keeping the area closed to tourists ๐Ÿฅด Friends are undecided as to what to do now, as are we. BUT  I said to hubby we are going somewhere, and if Grant and Tina don’t want to travel we can go on our own.

I’m going to use this holiday as a goal to losing weight. I’d love to 8 to 10 kilo’s lighter by then.  It’s doable, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.

I love travelling the way we do. Bring on June.

I will keep you updated on our decision on as to where we go. Western Australia’s borders come down on Monday so hopefully we can stay Covid free and healthy.

Small loss

A small loss on scales yesterday, 300g’s.

Might only be small but I’ll take it.

Busy day after weigh in with meals out plus a “high tea”

OMG….felt like a little Miss Piggy. I estimated that I used all my weeklies plus more maybe.  I’ve had a reasonably good day today, but have planned the rest of the week around 0 pp’s meals. It’s my birthday next weekend, celebrating starts on Friday with breakfast out with my bestie….

Not much else happening so short and sweet from me.

Saturday morning

And it’s weigh in day again.

And wooohooooo it’s another loss, 800g gone. This week I concentrated on checking point values on my food before I ate them. Just as well I did as one thing I cooked for the family (marinated lamb spare ribs) was 19pp a serve!!!   So I saved myself from going overboard. I’ve been real happy with my week. If my knee wasn’t so damn sore I could have managed a bit more walking and got my steps up. I had a fall at my sisters and since then it’s been very painful. I have problems with it in the past, a mri done a while back showed fluid under the kneecap. Anyways it’s made work uncomfortable, along with some sleepless nights so looks like a Doctors visit coming up.

It’s been a very quiet few weeks for us with no grandies staying over. They have been on school holidays and visiting their Dad. Mum is on holidays so she has been able to settle them back into school routine now the new year has started. William is in year 3 and Miss Summer started kindy. Oh my goodness, where has time gone??

William has a new teacher this year, actually she is a friend of mine too, and I know she will challenge him to do his absolute best. It won’t take Jodie long to sort out his little quirks.

Summer is already loving kindy…she goes 2 days one week and then 3 the next, other days are at daycare. She protested loudly on Friday when she was taken to daycare, wanted kindy ๐Ÿ˜˜

Finally.

 Weigh in day again.

This morning, the scales went down….finally!!!

After 3 weeks of staying the same, a 700g loss…woohoooo ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜

It’s been a quiet week for me, nothing much been happening. With daughter being on holidays I’ve had no babysitting duties. So all I’ve done is my work….and in my spare time I’ve been catching up on some scrapbooking of some of my photos. It actually has been a lot of fun. Ahhhh the memories, some tearful ones at times, but lots of happy ones too. I’ve heaps of photos so decided before I forget it’s best I get them organised or my kids will be left with a heap of photos and no idea who or what they are. Hubby’s mum left behind a big pile of albums and more than half of them we have no idea who or what they are.

Another weekly check in….

And another weigh in…..and another sts ๐Ÿคท‍♀️

No loss in 2 weeks. No idea why. I’m tracking, I’ve followed my plan, I’ve not cheated so I just have to believe in the program and carry on.

My weight has always yo-yo’ed. No one to blame but me ๐Ÿคฆ‍♀️

I’m the problem, just can’t help myself. Go so well for weeks, then indulge, then indulge some more, gain weight then think ahhh well I’ll get that off again, will start again next week…so indulge more till “diet” day again. I sabotage myself time and time again.

But I didn’t this time, my body must be playing catch up since I detoxed 2 weeks ago.

I went down to my sisters on Wednesday morning, and caught up with some friends and relatives and stayed the night at my sisters yakking and catching up with her and her hubby. One visit we did was to my Auntie Yvonne. She lives out on the family farm, the farm where my mum grew up. Two of mum’s brothers (one being Aunties husband) worked the farm till they retired and passed it on to Aunties only son.

You can see Aunties house above the waterslide in the 1st pic, 2nd pic is her sons house.

Many a happy time has been spent out the farm over the years. In 2024 it will a 100 years since my grandparents settled on this farm. Already plans are in place to celebrate the centenary.

Thursday after breakfast and lots more yakking we toured the op shops, caught up with more relatives before I had to turn the car north and head home.

One of the 1st things I did on arriving home was check my “Lady of the Night” cactus (succulent). It had 18 flowers this flowering but I had missed most of them opening fully or all together.

My sister had 14 on her plant which was my mum’s, mine is a cutting from it. Wednesday night the last 6 of hers flowered, the perfume on her patio was gorgeous.

I had one flower left so I made sure I was there from bud to fully open.

This flower only lasts the 1 night and when it opens fully it has a perfume that is out of this world.

Isn’t it just gorgeous?

Weigh in

Weigh in day. A tad disappointed that I had a sts …. but ww works and I believe in the program sooooooo onto a new week.

This morning I took the kids up to Macca’s where we were meeting their Dad and his girlfriend. They have them for the next 10 days…..wooohoooooo. As much as I love them, they are noisy, messy and time consuming. Plus Summer is going through a phase of waking up at 2.30am for cuddles….and then she is awake and ready to start the day anywhere from 5am onwards. Very tiring.

Anyways Mum started 3 weeks holiday today too…so no kids for her for 10 days either. She gets to spend some time with Michael without having to worry about caring for them.

So…..all in all 3 weeks without kids. Still have Skye…maybe. She spends ALL her time driving around the countryside with her mates, sister or mum. Not impressed with her atm. She is 18, on a youth allowance from Centrelink, and meant to be looking for work. We are not charging her board atm but have asked she pays us something each fortnight towards the car we helped buy and in return she help out around the home. It’s NOT happening. She has been home 1 night in the last fortnight. And we are expected to look after her pets while she gone. Poor rats so neglected.

Anyways I off to finish cooking dinner.

Will leave you with this…… cuddles with Poppy.

And the journey continues….

New year eve was very quiet….but on the 2nd we travelled down to Manjimup where I was finally able to visit Mum and Dads grave. Had a little chat, cleaned their stones and then headed off to visit my sister and brother in law and then we drove out to speedway ready for a good evenings racing. Sister came out too and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

We took the land cruiser down, so after the racing …. and a few drinks up at the bar with a few of the drivers …. we set up our camp and piled into bed.  Love our set up, 2 minutes to set up and pack up….plus super comfy.

In the morning hubby made the coffee while I used the facilities. Then went to say see ya ๐Ÿ‘‹ to sister and a promise to come down again real soon. Monday is usually a work day for me but I took the day off.

Meandered off home slowly enjoying our time together. Called in at a little cafe and bought a coffee and a pie which was super tasty and filling.

Sooooooo from that you can tell I didn’t restart my ww on Boxing Day….but I can tell you that Tuesday morning I started a 3 day detox.

I weighed myself when I started and I found I had gained 3.8. After the detox I lost 1.8 so I was off to the start I wanted. Detox I found easy and I must say I feel good. Tummy bloat gone and clothes not tight.

New Year Eve these little cuties hatched. Aren’t they the cutest?  Indian Runner ducks are usually not the best parents but  mum“Baby Huey” is doing a not too bad of a job. “Baby Huey” because she is the clumsiest duck ever…how she hasn’t squashed her babies I don’t know, she’s tripped over them so many times.

Kids are on school holidays and that means no daycare for Summer or William. I have them atm and they are driving me ratty!! They fighting, squabbling and just so “into everything naughty”.

Look at little Miss…..told not to go out of my sight…..but she did and found a puddle down near the shed where Poppy trying to grow lawn…..she came back like this….

And that for now is that ☺️

Happy New Year

No New Year resolution for me this year. I read a blog this morning and she said this year she was going to “choose”. I thought it was appropriate for me too. So this coming year everything I do in 2022 will be because I choose too, not because of expectations or want….it will because I choose to do so.

Happy New Year.

I slept it in. I welcomed it in with a coffee this morning.

Merry Christmas

 Merry Christmas ๐Ÿคถ๐ŸŽ…

May it be a happy day filled with blessings to you all.

Mine will be quiet…Kylee is with Micheal family this Christmas, but we will see the Santa joy on their faces when they return.

I am all ready for the big day. Presents all bought, food organised.

Weigh in day but we won’t go there as I haven’t weighed. Last 2 weeks I’ve binged.

Boxing Day I restart. Why I do this to myself. Lost nearly 7 kilo’s on ww and I’m sure I’ve piled half it back on the last 2 weeks.

It is what it is.

Be safe. Have the best day.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ… ๐Ÿคถ

Wednesday, December 15, 2021

Blah blah blah..

Weigh in last week I managed a sts and I was hoping this week I could maintain that as all the usual Christmas Festivities have begun. Unfortunately I am horribly off track and I can’t seem to stop myself. Each day I try, each day I fail. Hopefully tomorrow, I have to dig deep and find the strength.

Below a couple of pictures of a fire, 2 blocks away from us. The fire got away after it wasn’t put out properly the night before. Strong winds stirred up a few hot embers and away it went.

It burnt right down to our back boundary.

We  are on a 2.5 acre bush block and hubby is very fire vigilant and keeps the block clean of debris, has firebreaks and sprinklers set up all around our block and on the house

I’m back….

I haven’t been anywhere much….but I did forget to post last week.

So….last week I had a stay the same which I deserved. I had an “off” weekend and there wasn’t a lot weight watching involved. I was left -15 for the beginning of this week so delighted with a 500g loss today.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. We’ve had Skye’s 18th birthday, her year 12 graduation and today Williams 1st trampoline comp.  So proud of these grandee’s of mine.

Jaydene was there for Skye’s graduation as was Jahzara with her carer so Grumps and I got to have cuddles

Work is getting super busy what with Christmas just a few weeks away now.  The new company I’m finding ok. Loved our supervisor so was very surprised and saddened to hear yesterday that she has resigned. Wonder what will happen now. I’m counting down to retirement next year.

Weigh in again…

Gee it’s Saturday again, this last week has flown by. Nothing exciting has happened, I lead a very boring life obviously.

Yesterday I went gift shopping. My granddaughter turns 18 tomorrow…..can’t believe how quickly that time has gone. Seems like last week I was giving her cuddles after I watched her mother give birth to her. Skye also graduated from high school yesterday…..though her “official” graduation is on Thursday evening.  She is off with her “besties” getting things ready for her 18th birthday party that her mum is giving her for her ๐Ÿฅณ ๐ŸŽ‚  ๐ŸŽ‰  Well I hope her mum is paying for it and not Skye. Her friends were going to give her a ๐ŸŽŠ party but that fell through thus her mum stepping up. We were planning to give her a party but Skye’s friends wanted to do it so we backed down. Guess we’ll have cake on Sunday when she comes home.

She is relying on friends for transport. She did take over her Dads old car but that is off the road and she is looking for a more reliable one. We did warn her that Shawns car was “passed it used by date” but she so wanted it and the independence. Anyways hopefully we’ll find something within our budget for her….something that she can afford to pay us back for.

Hope tonight is a great night for her.

Lunch time.

I’m having the laziest of days. Only hubby and I here today and tonight so making the most of it.

Ohhh the scales were nice, 400g down. Little by little I’m going down.

Saturday, November 13, 2021

Saturday again.

Another week has flown by.
Nothing exciting has happened. It’s just been work and home.
Have William and Summer all weekend, Mum has work today then has taken tomorrow off as she has her partners Christmas Party to go to tonight. She is so excited as it a cocktail party up in Perth. She has bought a dress and some new make up from a beauty specialist who showed her how to “ make herself up”. Kylee is like me and very rarely wears make up or dresses so she has been practicing her makeup daily and wearing her new high heels around the house.
Micheal, her partner, is not going to know her, he has never seen her “dressed up to the nines”.

Today of course is weigh in day. Pleased to see a loss of 700grams.

It’s McHappy Day today, so took the kids up to Macca’s for breakfast. Later on going to a few Christmas fairs, hopefully they will find a few little gifts for their parents that I can put away for them.

Sunday, November 07, 2021

Yesterday

Was weigh in day……and a 200g loss. Could have been more but I had a couple of days where I wasn’t drinking enough. And last night, even though I had the points to spare I ate way too much.

I took the kids down the park early yesterday, it’s just down the road and very popular. The kids love it and love that I get them down there before everyone else (except a few other early birds) so they can enjoy all swings, flying foxes and climbs to themselves. After a few hours playing it was time for home, get their bags packed ready for when Mum arrived to pick them up and take them to Mandurah and hand them over to their Dad for an overnight visitation.

Then it was work for me….. and that is where I fell off the wagon. Darn self sabotage. Once I started I couldn’t stop BUT today I’m on the wagon, drinking my water and being a good weight watcher.

Doing ok

I am doing ok, except my knee.

It is really giving me some pain. Doesn’t help that although it is November now and we still still getting winter weather. I am so over the cold, wet and dreary weather.

I’m just getting ready to go to work, but thought I’d better record Saturday’s weigh in. 400g down.

WW changed their program, not too sure about it it, but I’ll keep to it and believe it’s going to keep working.
